One Piece at a Time
One Piece at a Time is about the joy in the awareness of receiving answers and being open to many of the questions that weave through our heads.
It is about the everyday ordinary yet peculiar person that places herself by the light for warmth and clarity.
It is about receiving One Piece at a Time, taking action, and making something out of it to get to the top of the mountain.
This is how it evolved and happened:
Her hair is a collection of thoughts, feelings and prayers.
One hairstyle had objects, another had words, other shapes, and one had flowers. The final has a combo version with some holes for the things we don’t know yet to ask for. “Ask, and ye shall receive” D&C 4:7 inspired every element in this piece created for the Vision of the Arts Fund auction.
Those holes I left in the woven hair have even more significance now than ever, uncertainty has my brain going. But I know that the answers to how, what, and when will come too.
Vision of the Arts Fund bi-annual auction raises money for scholarships and grants for visual artists and I am honored to contribute to it. Click on the left image below to see all the pieces in the auction, the right image to make a bid. Auction is open until April 18th, 2020. Thank you deeply!
