Coming Full Circle, My Story - Part 2

What do I see myself doing if there were not time, resources, or energy constraints?

A professional student!

I do have this deep passion for learning, specially about understanding behavior and growing as a person. I love the discoveries after answering soul digging questions and I feel I have come full circle in finding clarity about what I am to do with my art.

Not bad for a first animation…. I made it only play once on purpose.

Not bad for a first animation…. I made it only play once on purpose.

Remember encyclopedias? I had this children’s rainbow collection that I loved reading, studying, and looking through. I still have my two favorite, volumes 1 and 2, “Cuentos y Fábulas” & “Poesías y Canciones” They are the ones with tales, short stories, poems, and songs; each paired with wonderful drawings that took me places without traveling.

Words paired with pictures, have always caught my attention. When I was around 12, I got the biggest spiral notebook I could find, 500 color coded pages! Each color became the home for my collection of quotes, verses, jokes, sayings, song lyrics and poems. I took my notebook with me for a summer collecting 'content.'  I added drawings, fancy swirls and lots of bubble letters. The internet wasn’t a thing yet and this notebook was my Pinterest of good thoughts. I LOVED my notebook.

A few years later, the huge chalkboard in my classroom looked SO empty.  I filled it with bubble letters whenever someone had a birthday, but the letters couldn’t last very long. Prime real state!, I should have worked out a better deal with the teachers. But, I started taking a corner of the big chalkboard to share the thoughts I collected. If I had time, I added a drawing or two.  It was a good way to experiment with different letters and embellishments.

Art has always called me; color and drawings still fuel my imagination. You add good words to the mix and the combination of words with art is powerful. And, it is what helps me retain key messages.

Yes, I want to keep illustrating and playing with letter forms and pour all my expertise in helping great messages go further, last longer, and to make the tangible reminders I need, that I want my kids to see, that I want to share with my friends…and that you may want too. 😉

Remember my quest of living from the inside-out. There is SO much to learn and I need visuals to aid me in that journey. If you too want to learn about yourself, want to be reminded of who you are, want something pretty to help you in your own quest of being who you want to be.  JOIN MY JOURNEY!

AND if you have a great message to share, great words of wisdom to pass down, let's work together!
Perhaps you are a coach or an educator, a speaker or a content creator. Let's talk about your project because love, light, and growth need to be shared.

Ps. yes kids, we used chalk on a wall size chalkboard, erased it after every class, and sometimes had a job to go shake the eraser out!
It was easy to spot who had that job hehe…
